Programs
- 2 morning (Tuesdays & Thursdays) preschool class - ages 2 ½ to 5 years
- 2 morning (Tuesdays & Thursdays) toddler class - ages 18 to 30 months
- 3 morning preschool classes - ages 2 ½ to 5 years - (Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays)
- All 5 mornings available
- Half day preschool summer camps during July
1 to 8 ratio in the preschool classes and 1 to 5 ratio in the toddler class
The school is open from 8:30 to 11:30 am Monday to Friday
The nursery school operates on the Public school calendar from September until June. We observe all public school holidays including Christmas break, March break, and Easter Vacation. The center will close for one day each year for professional staff development (date to be announced).
Programs are subject to adjustments for class sizes or minimum enrollment numbers.
- Tues./Thurs. morning preschool classes - cost $186 per month
- Tues./Thurs. morning toddler classes - cost $204 per month
- Mon./Wed./Fri. morning preschool classes - $265 per month
- All five mornings are available
10% family discount for any combination of 2 or more programs (eg. 5 mornings or 2 children in family)
July 2010 summer camp fees - $116 per child per week
City subsidy is available
OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAM:
- To offer opportunities for children to socialize and interact with other children
- To provide a stimulating environment for children to have fun
- To provide a positive experience to foster each child's self-esteem
- To encourage the children to develop self-control and self-discipline
- To encourage a respect for others and their property
- To provide opportunities for self-expression, language stimulation, and thinking processes
- To use "SECOND STEP" to provide empathy training, impulse control, and anger management. This program aims at building social skills and self-esteem by giving children tools to solve everyday problems.
- To provide additional parenting materials to parents such as meetings with guest speakers and resource books
- To offer a wide variety of activities for children to explore and experience, including:
- Learning units with structured and unstructured teaching times
- A variety of art experiences and materials
- Nutritious snacks provided
- Sensory play such as sand, water, playdoh
- Blocks and building toys
- Puzzles and fine motor toys
- Dramatic play
- Discovery, science, math activities
- Pre-literacy and story time activities
